Christopher Walker, the Manager of Fund Development and Communications at Huron Hospice, is thrilled about the return of a beloved community event—the NHL Hockey Heroes vs. Central Huron Firefighters charity hockey game. This exciting annual game, which raises funds for Huron Hospice, is scheduled for March 15th, at 7:30 PM at the Eastlink Arena in Clinton.
It’s a great family event where kids can see their favorite hockey legends and enjoy some good-natured competition.
Last year’s game brought plenty of excitement, including an unexpected twist when the NHL alumni’s goalie was injured. A Central Huron firefighter, who happened to have his hockey gear in his van, stepped in to play for the alumni team, highlighting the camaraderie and team spirit of the event. The roster of NHL alumni featured well-known names like Gary Leeman, Dave McElwain, Gilbert Dion, and John Ogrodnick, adding to the thrill for fans.
Walker expects a similarly star-studded lineup for the 2025 game, with the NHL alumni list set to be announced in the new year. Tickets for the event, which sell out quickly every year, will be available through ProHockeyHeroes.com and directly from Huron Hospice starting early next year.
Walker encouraged fans to act quickly once tickets go on sale, as the event is always in high demand.
Mark your calendars for March 15th, and get ready for a memorable night of hockey and community spirit in Clinton.
