With the Ontario provincial election tomorrow, Zack Weiler, the New Blue Party candidate for Huron-Bruce, is making it clear that he’s running to shake up the political establishment. Weiler, an arborist and small business owner, is campaigning on a platform focused on cutting taxes, eliminating government waste, and challenging policies he believes are harming Ontarians.
Weiler has been vocal in his criticism of Premier Doug Ford, accusing him of governing like a liberal despite campaigning as a conservative. One of his top priorities is scrapping what he calls “Ford’s industrial carbon tax,” which he argues is increasing costs for businesses and consumers. He also wants to cancel wind energy contracts, calling them an expensive and unreliable scam that inflates hydro prices.
Another key issue for Weiler is immigration control. He believes Ontario is taking in more newcomers than the province’s housing market and economy can handle. He argues that Ford’s policies are worsening the housing crisis by driving up material costs and failing to keep up with demand.
Weiler also promises to push for lower taxes, arguing that Ontario doesn’t have a revenue problem but a spending problem. He points to Ford’s increasing provincial debt and government spending as proof that fiscal responsibility has been abandoned.
Throughout his campaign, Weiler has positioned himself as an outsider who isn’t interested in political games. He pledges to work with anyone serious about reducing costs for Ontarians but refuses to “hold hands and sing songs” with career politicians protecting their own interests.
The New Blue Party, has gained a reputation for challenging the political status quo. Weiler says he’s ready to continue that fight, whether he wins or not, by holding Ford accountable and giving voters a real alternative.
Huron-Bruce voters will have their say at the polls on election day.
