It’s Crabby Joe’s game day. The Exeter Hawks face off against the Port Stanley Sailors tonight at 8pm at the South Huron Recreation Centre in Exeter.
Exeter Hawks forward Nate Schiedel is enjoying his first season with the team, bringing energy and dedication to the ice. The St. Marys native has been passionate about hockey since he first started skating in Calgary as a child.
After playing for St. Marys Minor Hockey and the Huron Perth Lakers, he is now making his mark with the Hawks.
Schiedel says one of the best parts of being on the team is the strong bond he has built with his teammates and coaches. He describes them as a great group of guys who are easy to get along with.
Playing alongside his brother Jimmy has also made the experience even more special.
A natural forward, Schiedel briefly tried playing defense but quickly realized that forward was the right position for him.
He loves being part of the Hawks organization and looks forward to every game and practice. Schiedel is also impressed by the Hawks’ passionate fan base, describing them as “crazy” in the best way.
With the team now in the second round against the Port Stanley Sailors, and the series tied at 2-2, Schiedel knows the Hawks must stay focused.
Ahead of tonight’s game, Schiedel has a message for the fans.
Go tonight and cheer on your hometown Hawks! Come before or after the game and fuel up at Crabby Joe’s in Exeter.
