The Municipality of Central Huron has received a $153,046 payment from OLG for hosting Gateway Casinos Clinton. This payment covers the fourth quarter, from January 1 to March 31, 2025.
So far this fiscal year (April 2024 to March 2025), Central Huron has received a total of $686,719 from OLG. Since Gateway Casinos Clinton opened in August 2000, the town has received over $14.3 million in total.
These payments are made through a formula based on how much revenue the casino earns, and they’re given to all Ontario communities that host gaming sites.
Huron-Bruce MPP Lisa Thompson said the revenue helps support local programs and priorities. She added that the casino also creates jobs and plays an important role in strengthening the community.
