It is now time for our daily look at Canadian Mental Health Week, presented by: Experience Camping!
As Mental Health Week continues, the team at Jessica’s House Hospice is using the opportunity to remind the community that it’s okay to talk about grief and mental health—and that no one has to go through it alone.
Grace Winbow, coordinator of volunteers and bereavement services at Jessica’s House, says the week is about starting conversations and offering support.
Jessica’s House, located in Exeter, offers support for people facing end-of-life situations or grieving a loss. Their services include one-on-one grief support, group programs, and educational workshops, all offered in a safe, welcoming space.
Winbow says the way people think about grief and mental health has changed over the years.
Even though conversations about mental health are more common today, there is still more work to be done. That’s why Mental Health Week is so important to the team at Jessica’s House.
For anyone struggling in silence, Winbow has a simple message.
Jessica’s House is proud to be part of the conversation during Mental Health Week and encourages everyone to be kind, be open, and support each other with compassion.
