OPP West Region is reminding drivers to slow down and stay alert around school buses. Sergeant Ed Sanchuk posted a video to social media asking the public to remain vigilant.
Athough May 12th to May 15th, was the OPP “Safety Stops Here” School Bus Safety Campaign across southwestern Ontario, school bus safety is not just limited to one week.
Sergeant Sanchuk says the safety of children is everyone’s responsibility.
Drivers are reminded that school buses make frequent stops and children may be crossing the road unexpectedly. The OPP urges all road users to stay patient, drive carefully, and always watch for flashing bus lights and stop arms.
