Huron Shores Area Transit (HSAT) is updating its routes to better serve the growing needs of local riders while continuing to operate with strong support from nearby municipalities and First Nation partners.
As of May 31st, Route 4 between Grand Bend and Strathroy will come to an end. This change follows a detailed review aimed at improving service and focusing on areas where long-term support and funding are secure.
At the same time, HSAT is expanding in other ways. Route 1 will now include a new stop in Plympton-Wyoming, while Route 2 will add a stop in the Municipality of Bluewater. Both routes will also see more buses added to meet the needs of seasonal workers and visitors travelling through the region.
Support from local partners, including Lambton Shores, South Huron, Bluewater, Plympton-Wyoming, and Kettle & Stony Point First Nation, has played a key role in keeping the system running smoothly. When the Ontario Community Transit Grant Program ended in March, Lambton Shores contributed $50,000 to help maintain service through April.
