Huron Perth Public Health (HPPH) is happy to share that its 2024 Annual Report is now available online. The report highlights the many programs and services HPPH offered last year to help keep people healthy, prevent disease, and improve quality of life across Huron and Perth counties. It also includes a summary of the organization’s finances.
Dr. Miriam Klassen, Medical Officer of Health, said the report covers key public health work that many in the community will recognize, like controlling infectious diseases, giving immunizations, and running the Healthy Babies Healthy Children program.
HPPH uses programs, services, and policies based on solid evidence to tackle a wide range of health issues at the community level. Their work includes everything from vaccinations and controlling outbreaks to preventing chronic disease, protecting the environment, and planning for emergencies.
As a publicly funded health unit, HPPH is responsible to local residents, its board of health, and the Ontario Ministry of Health. The Huron Perth Board of Health oversees HPPH and is made up of members from Huron County, Perth County, Stratford, and St. Marys, along with some provincial representatives. HPPH follows the rules set out in the Ontario Public Health Standards and the Health Protection and Promotion Act.
HPPH keeps the community informed by regularly sharing annual reports, strategic plans, and financial updates. You can view the full 2024 Annual Report by visiting the Huron Perth Public Health website.
