The Lambton County OPP have charged a driver with multiple offences after stopping them at a RIDE checkpoint in Grand Bend.
On July 4th, around 6:00 p.m., officers were checking drivers for signs of impairment on Main Street West. During the stop, police investigated a driver and found grounds to make an arrest.
A 34-year-old from Toronto, was charged with driving while impaired, driving with a blood alcohol level over the legal limit, driving while under suspension, not wearing a seatbelt properly, and being a novice driver with alcohol in their system.
The OPP say keeping roads safe is a top priority and they will continue to crack down on impaired driving. They also remind everyone that road safety is a shared responsibility. Anyone who sees something suspicious or thinks a driver might be impaired should call the OPP at 1-888-310-1122.
