Wingham native Tyson Moran officially heard his name called in the 2025 MLB Draft Monday afternoon — selected 398th overall by the Kansas City Royals in the 13th round.
Moran, a left-handed hitting shortstop from F.E. Madill Secondary School and a standout with the Great Lake Canadians, has committed to North Dakota State University.
According to Perfect Game, Moran is ranked 500th overall among prospects and 481st for shortstops in the 2025 class.
He now becomes the 15th NDSU draftee since 1968—and the latest from Southwestern Ontario to join the MLB ranks.
