The Municipality of Bluewater has begun a Municipal Class Environmental Assessment (MCEA) to explore the proposed extension of Bachand Street and the construction of a new stormwater outlet in the Community of St. Joseph.
The project proposes extending Bachand Street west, then turning north for approximately 150 metres to connect with Gendron Street. A new outlet will be required to manage stormwater runoff from the extension, with the Fourcier Drain, located north of Gendron Street, identified as a potential outlet location.
As part of the assessment, the municipality will examine environmental conditions, consider design alternatives, and identify potential impacts and mitigation strategies. The process will include consultation with the public, Indigenous communities, local stakeholders, and regulatory agencies.
Residents and interested parties are encouraged to participate. Initial feedback is welcome and will be accepted until August 6, 2025. Public input will help shape the planning and design of the proposed infrastructure.
