Construction has officially begun on the redevelopment of peopleCare Stratford, a new 288-bed long-term care home in Stratford, Ontario. The project is supported by the province’s Construction Funding Subsidy top-up and aligns with the government’s broader commitment to strengthening Ontario’s health care system—creating jobs, building for the future, and improving care for long-term care residents.
The new home will feature nine Resident Home Areas (RHAs), each designed to provide a more comfortable and personalized living environment for up to 32 residents. These areas will offer a mix of standard and private rooms, many with access to dedicated balconies.
Additional amenities will include a chapel, therapy spaces, outdoor walking paths, dining and activity lounges, and a barber/salon—ensuring residents enjoy a high quality of care and daily living.
The new peopleCare Stratford is expected to open its doors to residents in 2027.
