From winding trails and tranquil woodlots to historic cemeteries and lush green parks, Norfolk’s natural beauty is being brought into focus through a new creative lens.
The 2025 Norfolk County Nature Photo Contest invites residents to showcase what makes the region unique—one image at a time.
Running from July 21 to September 26, the contest encourages photographers of all skill levels to submit stunning snapshots of Norfolk County-owned natural spaces.
Eligible photos must be taken at Norfolk County-owned properties, including woodlots, trails, parks, and even cemeteries.
That was Jarah Stefek – Supervisor of Corporate Communications.
She added they ask that, when at a cemetery, photographers be respectful.
Katherine McCurdy, Director of Corporate Customer Service and Communications, also joined us in studio to talk about the contest.
She is encouraging people to keep their eyes open and to think outside the box.
This contest was created to celebrate the beauty and uniqueness of Norfolk’s outdoor spaces, highlight the creative talents of local photographers, and really encourage residents to explore and appreciate the County’s natural heritage
While all submissions are appreciated, there will be winners.
Those photos will also have legs, as they could be seen far and wide.
