The Huron County Food Bank Distribution Centre is getting ready for its 12th annual Better Together Gala, and this year’s event promises to be a night full of fun, food, and community spirit. The gala takes place on Thursday, August 7th at the Libro Community Hall in Clinton.
Chris Allen, Executive Director of the Huron County Food Bank Distribution Centre, says the doors open at 5:00 p.m., with the program starting at 5:45 p.m. Dinner begins at 6:00 p.m., giving guests plenty of time to arrive.
Allen says the evening is more about fun and connection than formality.
The gala also gives the food bank a chance to share updates with the community.
All money raised from the event goes directly back to the food bank. That includes helping to cover food costs like milk and eggs that aren’t donated and must be purchased, as well as general maintenance of the facility.
Tickets are $85 each, and tables seat 10. They are available online through the organization’s website, by phone, or by scanning a QR code on the site. Allen recommends buying tickets in advance, as the event is likely to sell out. Some guests are also reserving full tables for their groups.
Allen says the support from the community is essential.
The evening will also include the unveiling of this year’s “Fund-in-Need” program, a yearly feature that highlights a special project or need. While Allen didn’t give away the details, he says it will be upbeat and exciting, with a personal story to go along with it.
