The open-air burn ban in Huron County has officially been lifted.
As of 12:01 a.m. on Wednesday, August 20th, residents are once again allowed to have open-air fires.
The ban was put in place earlier this summer due to dry conditions and the risk of fire spreading. Local fire chiefs say conditions have now improved enough to safely lift the restriction.
Residents are reminded to always follow local fire safety rules and check with their municipality for any specific guidelines before burning.
