The Emergency Department at Clinton Public Hospital will be closed for part of the weekend because of staff shortages. The closure will begin at 8:00 p.m. on Friday, August 22, 2025, and regular hours of 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. will start again on Sunday, August 24, 2025.
During the closure, anyone needing urgent medical help should call 9-1-1. Paramedics will still be available in the community and will take patients to the nearest hospital with an open Emergency Department.
For health concerns that are not an emergency, residents can call Health Connect Ontario at 811. This service is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
Nearby hospitals with 24-hour Emergency Departments include Seaforth Community Hospital, Alexandra Marine & General Hospital in Goderich, and South Huron Hospital in Exeter. Residents are advised to check ahead to make sure these departments are open before going.
