The Municipality of Bluewater is celebrating international recognition for the Village of Bayfield Marina. The marina has been awarded the 2025 Blue Flag status, a prestigious eco award given to marinas around the world that meet 38 strict environmental standards set by the Foundation for Environmental Education.
The Blue Flag program highlights efforts to keep water swimmable, drinkable, and fishable, while protecting the natural environment. Thanks to the work of the municipality, local community, and visitors, Bayfield Marina has become a popular eco-destination for boaters from across Canada and beyond.
Tonight’s Dark Sky amateur astronomy night, planned for August 25, has been cancelled due to weather and cloud cover.
However, residents can still look forward to Watershed Awareness Day on Saturday, September 6th, from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the Stanley Community Centre in Varna. The event will include a tree order pick-up hosted by the Ausable Bayfield Conservation Authority.
