The Canadian Football League (CFL) has announced several major changes to the game that will take effect in 2027. The field will be reduced from 110 yards to 100 yards, and the end zones will shrink from 20 yards to 15 yards. Goal posts will also be moved from the front of the end zone to the back.
The league is also changing the rules for the rouge. A missed field goal or punt that is not touched by the opposing team will no longer count as a point. Points will only be awarded if the returner fails to run the ball out of the end zone.
These updates are designed to make the game faster and more exciting for players and fans.
