The Run4Kids event is back and set to take place in Exeter this year. The 5-kilometer race will be held on the Morrison-McNaughton Trail on Saturday, with registration starting at 8 a.m. and the run beginning at 9 a.m.
Katrina Clarke, Executive Director of Rural Response for Healthy Children told myFM the details.
Run4Kids has been a tradition in the community for many years. It was first started by Virtual High School and is now organized by Rural Response for Healthy Children, who also benefit from the funds raised.
The money will go toward family-based programs that support parents and children.
Participants can register ahead of time at vhsrun4kids.com or sign up on the morning of the event. The run will go ahead rain or shine, and the trails provide lots of tree cover if light rain falls.
This year, a new feature is being added for families with small children or those not looking to complete the full 5 kilometers.
At the finish line, families can look forward to snacks, face painting, bubbles, and other fun activities to celebrate the day.
