Preventing crimes before they can occur is always the best way to keep our communities safe. That’s the message during Crime Prevention Week running November 2-8.
It’s a partnership between the Ministry of the Solicitor General and the Ontario Association of Chiefs of Police, which sees police services across the province reach out to their communities to highlight the importance of crime prevention as a means to achieving safer and healthier communities for everyone.
The annual campaign sees a specific focus each year, with Samantha Wakefield, Corporate Communications Coordinator sharing the theme for 2025.
Wakefield also stressed that community safety is a shared responsibility and every resident has a role to play in keeping the city safe.
Residents are encouraged to take part in the week’s activities, learn practical safety tips, and help make Huron County a safer place for everyone.
