We Remember, powered by Jaydens Mechanical- A special look at the men and women who fought for our freedom.
The Royal Canadian Legion in Exeter is preparing for Remembrance Day with activities to honour Canada’s veterans and those currently serving. Barb Willard, president of the Exeter Legion and a veteran herself, said it is important to remember the people who protect the country.
Willard served in the Canadian Armed Forces for almost 20 years.
Willard told myFM about her time in the Armed Forces.
She said the Armed Forces took her all over Canada.
Willard mentioned the Legion’s Poppy Campaign kicked off and Poppies are available at local stores and businesses through Legion volunteers. Willard emphasized that poppies are given by donation, not sold, and should always be worn on the left side, over the heart.
Those interested in joining the Legion can visit the Exeter branch or sign up online at Legion.ca, choosing Exeter as their home branch.
