Christmas is all about the kids as West Lynn Public School hosts its annual Christmas Craft Market this weekend.
The event takes place on November 15, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at 18 Parker Drive in Simcoe, with the goal of raising funds to purchase new playground equipment for Elgin Avenue Public School.
That was Lyndsey Ross, fundraising chair for the initiative.
The market marks the first in a series of fundraising events organized by the West Lynn Playground Fundraising Committee.
Elgin Avenue is currently undergoing major renovations, and once complete, all students from West Lynn will transition to the newly updated school.
One of the key concerns is that the playground equipment at both Elgin Avenue and West Lynn is outdated and in need of replacement.
Organizers hope the new playground will feature multi-structure play areas, age-appropriate equipment, basketball nets, and soccer goals—creating a safe, inclusive, and engaging outdoor space for all children.
In addition to browsing for handmade gifts and seasonal crafts, visitors can donate for photos with Santa, with all proceeds supporting the playground revitalization.
