The Lambton County OPP is now using body-worn cameras (BWC) to help keep communities and officers safe. The cameras are part of the OPP’s ongoing efforts to improve transparency, accountability, and evidence collection.
Following the success of in-car cameras and the Automated License Plate Recognition system, body-worn cameras are being issued to officers across Lambton County. The cameras are worn on the front of the uniform and are clearly visible. A green light shows the device is in standby mode, and it turns red when recording begins.
Officers who have completed training are already using the cameras, with full deployment expected as soon as possible.
The Lambton OPP continues to work closely with the community, using new tools and partnerships to build a safer and more open Lambton County.
