The Municipality of Bluewater is set to begin its winter maintenance season on November 15, continuing through April 15. The Municipality is responsible for keeping 284.4 lane kilometres of paved roads, 362.3 lane kilometres of unpaved roads, and 10.31 kilometres of sidewalks safe during the winter months. If winter weather arrives early or lasts beyond the scheduled season, the Manager of Public Works may start or extend maintenance to ensure safe travel.
Winter maintenance is carried out according to provincial standards under O. Reg. 239/02: Minimum Maintenance Standards for Municipal Highways.
Some roads in Bluewater will not receive winter maintenance this season. These “no winter maintenance” roads include:

Short Horn Road from London Road (Hwy. 4) to Airport Line
Pavillion Road from Bronson Line to Goshen Line
Pavillion Road from Parr Line to Bannockburn Line
Bannockburn Line from Centennial Road to South Limits
Staffa Road from Bronson Line to Bluewater Highway (Hwy. 21)
Fansville Line from Staffa Road to Kippen Road
Fansville Line from Zurich-Hensall Road (CR84) to Walnut Road
Danceland Road from Goshen Line to Blackbush Line
Rodgerville Road from Bronson Line to Goshen Line
Parr Line from Rodgerville Road to Dashwood Road (CR83)
Hurondale Road from Bells Line to Ausable Line
Hurondale Road from Airport Line to Bells Line
Ausable Line from Hurondale Road to Rodgerville Road
Pepper Road from Goshen Line to Babylon Line
Macdonald Road from Babylon Line to Bells Line
Turnbull’s Road from Dashwood Road (CR83) to Bluewater Highway (Hwy. 21)
Residents are also reminded that overnight parking is not allowed from November 15 to April 15. Under the Municipality’s parking by-law, vehicles cannot be parked on streets, highways, or boulevards between 3 a.m. and 6 a.m. to allow for safe and efficient snow removal.
