The Huron County OPP is investigating after the Wingham trail walking bridge was damaged and closed to the public.
Police were called on November 18th, to look into damage on the bridge west of Josephine Street in Wingham. Officers found several parts of the railing had been broken and cut, making the bridge unsafe to use.
Evidence suggests someone used power tools in an attempt to remove sections of the railing. A witness reported seeing an adult man shaking the railing. He was last seen wearing a black jacket with a reflective stripe.
The bridge will remain closed until repairs can be made.
