The Huron County Museum in Goderich is getting ready to welcome families for its annual Holiday Open House. The event takes place Sunday, December 7 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m., and admission is completely free.
Education and Programming Coordinator Michael Roy says the open house is a chance for families to enjoy time together during the festive season.
The museum will also be decorated for Christmas, including festive touches in the Victorian apartment display and on the large steam engine in the gallery.
A special gingerbread house workshop will also be held that day.
Participants can also have their gingerbread creations photographed for an online vote to choose Huron County’s best gingerbread house.
Roy says the open house continues to return each year because it brings families together and gives the community something fun to enjoy at no cost.
Visitors are also invited to view the Huron County Art Show, featuring more than 50 pieces of local artwork on display until December 14.
Roy says he is most looking forward to seeing families explore the museum, enjoy activities, and get creative with the gingerbread workshop.
More information and gingerbread registration details can be found on the Huron County Museum website.
