The Bayfield River Valley Trails Association, in partnership with the Municipality of Bluewater, is hosting its third annual Candy Cane Hunt on Sunday, December 7th, starting at 1 p.m. at the Varna Nature Trails, located behind the Stanley Complex just west of Varna.
Ralph Blasting, the hike coordinator for Bayfield Trails, told myFM about the event.
Blasting asks that each child limits themselves to 5 candy canes each to insure every child can search for the festive treats.
After the hunt, participants are invited to the Stanley Complex for hot chocolate and Timbits, donated by Tim Hortons Bayfield, and activities for children, including creating Christmas ornaments, hosted by Seeds Rooted in Youth.
Blasting says the event has grown in popularity each year. He encourages families to come out, enjoy the trails, and get a dose of fresh air and Christmas spirit.
The trails are wheelchair and stroller accessible, and dogs on leashes are welcome.
This fun winter event is a great way for families to get outdoors, enjoy nature, and kick off the holiday season together.
