Huron County has started a new community engagement process as it updates its 10-Year Housing and Homelessness Plan. The County is working with Vink Consulting and J Consulting Group, two firms with experience helping Ontario communities understand housing needs and plan local services.
As part of the update, the County will review current housing and homelessness pressures, study future housing needs, and collect feedback from the community. They will also speak with people who have lived experience and work on ways to improve coordination across local services.
A community survey is open now until December 24th. After the survey, the County will hold focus groups, interviews, and a community workshop to help shape the final goals and strategies for the updated plan.
County Council, local municipalities, community partners, and residents will receive regular updates throughout the process.
More information about housing and homelessness programs, as well as the current 10-Year Plan, can be found on the County’s website at HuronCounty.ca/housing-and-homelessness.
