Police say one person is facing charges following an investigation in the Township of North Huron earlier this month.
According to Huron County Ontario Provincial Police, officers investigated a matter involving intimate partners on December 15th. Police say the investigation found that the suspect had allegedly committed criminal acts against their partner.
As a result, a 40-year-old resident of North Huron has been arrested and charged with two counts of spousal assault under the Criminal Code.
Police say the accused was processed and released from custody, with a future court date scheduled at the Ontario Court of Justice in Goderich.
Police remind the public that the charges have not been proven in court and the accused is considered innocent until proven guilty.
