Norfolk County residents are encouraged to participate in the annual Christmas Tree Recycling Program, running from December 26, 2025, to January 11.
This eco-friendly initiative allows residents to drop off their real Christmas trees at designated depots across the county, ensuring they are recycled responsibly rather than sent to landfill.
All trees collected through the program are chipped into mulch and repurposed for various county projects, giving new life to your holiday tree while supporting sustainable community practices.
Before dropping off your tree, please remove all decorations, including tinsel, ornaments, lights, and tree stands. Trees cannot be bagged, and curbside pickup, brush, or firewood will not be accepted as part of this program.
Trees can be dropped off at multiple convenient locations across Norfolk County.
Most sites will operate during regular business hours, except on statutory holidays such as December 25, 26, and January 1.
Locations include:
- Courtland Community Centre – 276 Main St, Courtland
- Delhi Bulk Water Depot – 80 Industrial Rd, Delhi
- Langton Arena – 28 Albert St, Langton
- Port Dover – East end of Nelson St
- Port Rowan Community Centre – 14 College Ave, Port Rowan
- Simcoe Transfer Station – 164 Fourteenth St, Simcoe
- Simcoe Operations Yard – 8 Schellburg Ave, Simcoe
- South Walsingham Transfer Station – 1180 Concession Road 3
- Walsh Sand Dome – 984 Charlotteville Rd 7
- Waterford Heritage & Agricultural Museum – 159 Nichol St, Waterford
Residents are reminded to follow the simple recycling rules: remove decorations, do not bag your tree, and only drop off at official depots during the program dates.
Trees left at the curbside will not be collected, so be sure to use one of the designated locations.

By participating in this program, Norfolk residents help keep the community green while giving their holiday tree a second life as nutrient-rich mulch.
