The Simcoe Recreation Centre reopened today (Tuesday), after a temporary closure yesterday, but residents should note that the Annaleise Carr Aquatic Centre will remains closed.
The closure is due to an unexpected maintenance issue, and staff say it is necessary to ensure safety and proper operation before reopening.
All programs and rentals yesterday—including indoor walking, open swim, and family swim—were canceled as a result of the earlier closure.
While the recreation centre resumes normal operations today, the pool will remain unavailable, and anyone planning to attend swim programs or rentals is advised to make alternate arrangements.
County staff thank the community for their understanding and patience, emphasizing that the decision to keep the aquatic centre closed was made with public safety in mind.
Residents are encouraged to check the Simcoe Recreation Centre and Annaleise Carr Aquatic Centre websites for updates on reopening and any future service changes.
The county also encourages residents to monitor their email notifications or website alerts for any changes to program schedules or facility availability.
