A South Huron resident has been charged following an investigation by the Huron County Ontario Provincial Police.
Police say officers responded to a matter involving intimate partners in the Municipality of South Huron on January 2nd. As a result of the investigation, officers learned that the suspect is alleged to have committed criminal acts against their partner.
A 39-year-old individual from South Huron was arrested and charged under the Criminal Code. The charges include spousal assault, spousal assault with a weapon, forcible confinement, careless storage of a firearm or ammunition, and breaching firearms storage regulations.
The accused was processed by police and held in custody for a bail hearing. A future court date has been scheduled at the Ontario Court of Justice in Goderich.
