It’s Crabby Joe’s game day. The Exeter Hawks face off against Thamesford tonight at 8:30pm at the South Huron Recreation Centre in Exeter.
Exeter Hawks defenceman Rourke McEwan is in his third season with the team and says his love for hockey started at a very young age.
McEwan, who wears number 14, grew up in St. Marys, not far from Exeter.
Before joining the Exeter Hawks, McEwan played minor hockey in his hometown.
He has been in Exeter ever since. McEwan says the bond between the players, coaches, and management is strong. He describes the team environment as positive and supportive, making the rink a place players enjoy coming to every day.
He says the coaches are easy to work with and focus on putting in the effort and earning results together.
Being in his third season with the Hawks, McEwan says having many of the same teammates again this year has been a big advantage.
McEwan also credits Hawks fans for playing a major role in the team’s success, especially at home.
Tonight’s game is a rescheduled game from Halloween, and fans are reminded that all passes dated October 31st will be honoured.
Looking ahead to the matchup, McEwan says fans can expect a close and exciting game against Thamesford.
Go tonight and cheer on your hometown Hawks! Come before or after the game and fuel up at Crabby Joe’s in Exeter.
