Mental Health First Aid training session is being offered in Bayfield this spring to help people better support those experiencing mental health or substance use challenges.
The full-day course will take place on Wednesday, April 29th, from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at 10 Keith Crescent in Bayfield. Participants are asked to arrive by 8:45 a.m. The training will include breaks and a lunch period during the day.
The course is designed to help people recognize signs of mental health or substance use problems and learn how to respond in a supportive way during a crisis. Participants will also learn about local resources that can provide further help. The training is open to anyone looking to build confidence and knowledge in supporting others.
The cost to attend is $150 per person, which is a subsidized rate. Those who attend the full course will receive a certificate. Organizers note that participants must be present for the entire session, as missing more than 30 minutes will make them ineligible for certification.
