Lambton County Council has approved its 2026 budget, including a 3.72 per cent increase to the county property tax levy.
The approved budget includes total spending of $321.9 million in 2026. Of that amount, $106.1 million will be funded through local property taxes.
As part of the budget decisions, council also approved extra funding for the Western Sarnia-Lambton Research Park. The research park will receive up to $845,603 in 2026, using money from existing reserve funds.
Lambton County provides many services across the region, including land ambulance services, public health, social and housing services, libraries, museums, an art gallery, long-term care homes, road maintenance, planning and building services, and provincial offences court services.
