The federal government has launched a national survey as it begins work on developing Canada’s first men’s health strategy.
Health Canada says the online consultation will run from early March until June, with a full strategy expected later this year under the leadership of Health Minister Marjorie Michel. Advocacy group Movember Canada has called for action, citing research that found 75,000 Canadian men died prematurely in 2023, many from preventable causes.
Officials say improved men’s health outcomes could save taxpayers $12.4 million annually and boost productivity, positioning Canada among a small group of countries with a national men’s health strategy.
