Hensall Co-op has announced the launch of its 2026 Strong Communities Initiative, offering a one-time $10,000 grant to support a local community project.
As a farmer-owned co-operative, Hensall Co-op says strong rural communities are key to a successful agriculture industry. The new initiative will fund a project within the co-op’s trading area that meets an important community need and creates a lasting impact.
This year, priority will be given to projects focused on Community Health and Healthy Living. The grant is open to Canadian not-for-profit organizations that serve the wider community and are registered charities with the Canada Revenue Agency. Groups must have been operating for at least 12 months and show they can complete and sustain the project. Funding must support a project with long-term benefits, not regular operating costs.
Preference will also be given to organizations that have not received a large sponsorship or donation from Hensall Co-op in the past five years.
Applications are open until May 31st. More details and the application form are available at hensallco-op.ca.
