More than 180 students from across the region took part in Ontario’s West Coast Musicfest, held at the Blyth Festival Theatre earlier this month.
The event took place on March 11th and was hosted by Central Huron Secondary School in partnership with the Blyth Festival. It was supported through the County of Huron’s Supporting Local Youth Program. Students from several schools performed, including Central Huron Secondary School, Stratford District Secondary School, St. Anne’s Catholic Secondary School, and St. Michael Catholic Secondary School.
At the end of the event, several groups were invited to move on to the national competition. These include the Stratford District Secondary School B100 Band, the St. Anne’s Catholic Secondary School Concert Band, the Central Huron Secondary School Jazz Band, and the Central Huron Secondary School Senior Band.
Organizers say the event was a success and highlighted the strong musical talent found in Huron County and the surrounding area.
