Drivers in Lambton County are being reminded to stay alert as police continue to respond to collisions involving deer.
OPP say deer are most active at dawn and dusk, especially in rural and wooded areas. Because of this, drivers are being urged to use extra caution during these times.
Police advise slowing down and watching the roadside carefully. Using high beams when it is safe can also help spot animals sooner. If one deer is seen, there is a good chance more are nearby.
Drivers are also reminded to brake firmly if needed, but avoid swerving, as that can lead to more serious crashes. Keeping a safe distance from other vehicles can also help prevent accidents.
Police say taking a few extra seconds to stay alert can make a big difference in preventing collisions.
