Police in southwestern Ontario have arrested a person who was earlier considered armed and dangerous.
Huron and South Bruce OPP, say the incident began on April 2nd, around 11:00 a.m.
Officers were called to an area near Main Street South and Wellington Street East in Exeter after a report that two people were unconscious inside a vehicle. When emergency crews arrived, the individuals woke up and ran away.
Police say the suspects then approached another person, showed a firearm, and stole their vehicle.
One suspect was quickly arrested in South Huron without any trouble. However, the second suspect ran away and later approached another victim, stealing a second vehicle before fleeing the area.
At about 10:00 p.m., officers from the South Bruce OPP, with help from the OPP West Region Canine Unit, found and arrested the remaining suspect.
Police say there is no longer any danger to the public. They also thanked community members for their patience and for sharing helpful information during the investigation.
