Students across Huron and Perth counties will soon get a hands-on look at careers in the skilled trades.
The Huron-Perth Catholic District School Board is hosting its Skilled Trades Pathways Experience on April 15th and 16th at the Stratford Rotary Complex. The event will run from 9:30 a.m. to 2:15 p.m. each day.
The two-day event will bring together students in Grades 7, 8, and 10 to explore different career options in fields like construction, manufacturing, and transportation. Students will take part in interactive activities and demonstrations led by local industry professionals, giving them a chance to learn what it’s like to work in the trades.
A special evening event will also be held on April 15th to highlight opportunities for women in the skilled trades. Young women and their families are invited to attend and learn more through hands-on activities and conversations with female mentors.
The school board says events like this help students discover their interests, build skills, and explore career paths that are in high demand across the region.
