The popular Grand Bend Summer Sunset Sounds concert series is making a change for 2026, with shows moving to Thursday nights to help bring more energy to the beach during the week.
The series will feature seven concerts this year, with a mix of returning favourites and new artists. All performers write their own music, giving audiences a chance to hear original songs and unique styles.
The season will begin on July 9th with the return of Sarah Smith. Other performers throughout the summer include Janna Leduc, Shebad, Mudmen, Brothers Wilde, The Smoke Wagon Blues Band, and Clara Stegall. Each show will also include opening acts, showcasing even more local talent.
Organizers say the concert series started 12 years ago with a small crowd and a simple setup, but it has grown into a well-loved summer tradition. Strong support from the Municipality of Lambton Shores and local businesses has helped the series continue to grow each year.
In the past, shows were held on Sunday evenings to attract visitors during quieter times. However, organizers say the beach has become much busier, leading to parking challenges on weekends. Moving the concerts to Thursdays is meant to spread out the crowds and keep the energy going throughout the week.
Organizers say the new theme says it all: the weekend now starts on Thursdays.
