Work has begun on the Exeter Main Street South Reconstruction Project in the Municipality of South Huron, with crews starting early-stage work last week.
Officials say traffic control signs and truck detours have been set up, and installation of a temporary watermain is now underway.
This week, contractors are expected to begin storm sewer work near the Ausable River, just downstream from the bridge. Work on the temporary watermain will continue, along with early preparation for a sanitary sewer bypass. This will allow crews to install a new manhole at the Main and Church Street intersection.
Elliott Park will remain closed for the duration of the project.
Drivers are being asked to expect delays as detours and traffic disruptions continue. Residents are encouraged to plan ahead when travelling through the area.
Officials thank the community for their patience and understanding as the work moves forward.
