The province is proposing the first increase in nearly 30 years to benefits provided through the Workplace Safety and Insurance Board.
If approved, income replacement would rise to 90 per cent of take-home pay, up from 85 per cent.
Labour Minister David Piccini said at a press conference that no worker should have to worry about paying their bills while they recover from a workplace injury.
The proposal would also allow eligible workers to receive benefits beyond age 65 if they planned to keep working.
