A Special Weather Statement has been issued by Environment Canada for parts of the region, including Exeter, Goderich, Bluewater, and southern Huron County, warning of more heavy rainfall through Thursday.
Officials say an additional 20 to 50 millimetres of rain is possible. With the ground already near saturation from recent rain, there is a higher risk of water pooling and localized flooding.
Several rounds of showers and thunderstorms are expected over the next couple of days, and rainfall amounts may vary across the area. Depending on how much rain falls, rainfall warnings could be issued for some areas.
Drivers are being reminded not to travel through flooded roads and to avoid low-lying areas where water can quickly build up.
