A popular spring tradition is returning to Bayfield this weekend, as the Bayfield Lions Club gets ready to host its annual Home and Lifestyle Show.
The event will take place April 25th and 26th at the Bayfield Arena, with doors opening at 10 a.m. each day.
Former chair of the show, Tony Van Bakel shared details about the event.
Van Bakel, says the event has been running for nearly 50 years and continues to be an important part of the community.
This year’s show will feature a wide range of exhibitors, with about 30 to 40 per cent of vendors new to the event.
There will also be activities for the whole family.
One of the highlights this year will be a live demonstration by the local fire department, showing how crews respond to emergency situations. The demonstration will take place twice daily.
Van Bakel says the outdoor portion of the event is expanding as well, with a second tent being added and food available on site.
He also mentioned one big change for the year.
The event is run entirely by volunteers and is the Bayfield Lions Club’s biggest fundraiser of the year. Van Bakel says they typically welcome more than 2,000 visitors and hope to see another strong turnout this weekend.
Residents are invited to stop by, support local vendors, and enjoy a fun, family-friendly event.
