Construction work continues in South Huron, with some progress now complete along Main Street.
Municipal officials say crews have finished underground work at the intersection of Main and Church Street, including sewer and watermain upgrades. The intersection has now been repaved, and a temporary watermain is in use while work continues.
Work will continue this week on the west side of Main Street, moving south. The current detour will stay in place until all construction and restoration work is finished in that area.
The sidewalk on the east side of Main Street and the bridge will remain open, and businesses in the area will continue to operate. Access to homes and businesses will be maintained as much as possible.
Drivers are asked to expect delays and plan ahead while the work continues. Municipal officials thank residents for their patience during the project.
