An exciting weekend of movies, food, and community fun is coming to Forest later this spring.
The Lambton Film and Food Festival will run from May 28th to May 31st at the Kineto Theatre and locations throughout downtown Forest. Organizers say the event will bring together people of all ages to enjoy films, local events, and great food.
The festival begins on Thursday evening with a Youth Film Competition and Awards Night. Local young filmmakers will have a chance to see their work on the big screen. The night will also include awards, along with pizza and drinks for participants and their families.
Youth are still invited to take part by submitting a short film before the May 15th deadline. Films can be between one and three minutes long and fall into several categories, including comedy, drama, and animation.
Activities continue on Friday with a Chalk Art Festival along King Street in the morning. Several films will also be shown throughout the day, along with a special gala dinner in the evening.
On Saturday, the festival will feature more films, a local market, and a street party that runs into the evening. Visitors can enjoy live music, food trucks, and local vendors. A junior curling breakfast will also be held earlier in the day.
The festival wraps up on Sunday with a final lineup of films at the Kineto Theatre.
Organizers say the weekend is a chance for the community to come together and celebrate creativity, local talent, and good food.
More information about the festival, including film submissions and tickets, can be found on the Kineto Theatre website or by contacting organizers directly.
