Construction work continues on Main Street in South Huron, with crews making progress on underground infrastructure upgrades.
Municipal officials say sanitary sewer installation has now been completed on Main Street between Church and Hill Street. This week, crews will continue working south toward Wellington Street.
Traffic detours remain in place while construction continues on the west side of Main Street. Southbound traffic is being redirected using Church and William Streets, while northbound traffic is detoured along Wellington Street, Andrew Street, and Hill Street before returning to Main Street.
The sidewalk on the east side of Main Street and the east side of the bridge will stay open during this phase of construction.
The municipality says businesses remain open, and access to homes and businesses will be maintained as much as possible throughout the project.
Drivers should continue to expect delays and plan ahead while the work is underway.
