From Municipality of Lambton Shores Website
The Municipality of Lambton Shores is reminding residents and visitors to keep safety in mind as the Victoria Day long weekend approaches and more people head to Grand Bend Beach.
Municipal officials say alcohol is not permitted on the beach and visitors are also reminded that the beach remains smoke and vape free.
Officials are also warning people that water temperatures in Lake Huron are still very cold this time of year. Anyone planning to swim should be aware that the Grand Bend Beach Patrol season has not yet started and lifeguards are not currently on duty.
Visitors heading to Grand Bend should also be prepared for paid parking, which resumes May 15th. Parking can be paid at designated locations or through the parking app where available.
Drivers are also being reminded that lane restrictions remain in place on the Grand Bend Bridge because of ongoing construction work. Delays are expected, with all lanes expected to reopen by June 26th.
Municipal staff say they hope everyone enjoys a safe and relaxing Victoria Day weekend.
